Introducing: Baking Therapy

Jack developed Baking Therapy around key themes in psychology and therapy: Connecting with Others, All About the Self, Mindfulness, Grief and Loss, and Emotions. These are themes that we see most in our practice. And they have practical applications for baking.

In each session, we will infuse recipes with coping mechanisms, ways to understand or relate to people, and some key therapeutic techniques to bring about a healthier you. We’ll give you big family-style inspired meals. Or recipes that are best made with a loved one for increased connectivity between you.

We’ll explore recipes that are perfect for one. Or childhood classics that help bring a sense of comfort in the hardest of times. It’s those moments that can really provide healing – whether in the kitchen or a therapist’s office. And of course we will provide you with recipes that spark joy, reduce anger, and bring a strong sense of accomplishment and mental clarity.

While therapy and baking may seem scary or daunting, I’ll help break down the instructions or teachings so they’re simple to follow.
And once you have the basic understanding down, you’ll be able to, as Christina Tosi put it, start to follow your instincts more, edit, taste-tweak-taste until you get it just right.
